It was a great day for a food & drink festival. This was at Longleat, Warminster. Longleat is a safari park and it also hosts other big events like this one and also hot air balloon festival and festival of light.
Saturday was a sunny day and all the animals were out basking in the sun! This made me happy, but what also made me happy was the food & drink festival.
There was live music, fair ground rides/games (mainly for young children) and then you had the rows of food and & drink stalls!
For lunch I had chicken pad Thai from Thai Spice and braised tofu in chilli bean sauce from Rockin Buddha; it was vegan chinese food. This was lush! The pad Thai wasn’t dry and it had the right amount of sweetness. It has cabbage and spring onions which gave it a bit of crunch. The braised tofu wasn’t the soft tofu, I think it was shallow fried and then in the chilli bean sauce. It wasn’t that spicy but it did have a kick to it.
I also bought some scotch eggs from Nutts Scotch Eggs and I had one when I got home. It was tandoori flavoured. I ate it cold and once you cut it open you can smell the spices! The yolk wasn’t too well done, but it was cooked enough!
For a drink break I had Hullabaloos Lemonade. They had different flavours that you can mix and match. I had the elderflower one and raspberry one. I think I made a good match; it wasn’t too sweet or sour, it was just right and the colour was very funky!
I also bought some macarons but I can’t comment on those yet as I haven’t eaten them!
If you haven’t been to a food festival… Why have you not? There’s so many different stalls and it is bound to make everyone happy!
