I seafood…

Where: The House Restaurant, Brighton

I went to Brighton with a few friends and we were struggling to find where to go for lunch!

Brighton has so many restaurants we were trying to figure out what cuisine we wanted.

We ended up going to a seafood restaurant called The House Restaurant. We sat outside since it was such lovely weather and 2 of us had fish and chips and the other 2 had House Bouillabaisse.

I had the House Bouillabaisse as it had lots of seafood! It’s a seafood stew which consists of: king prawns, mussels, squid, new potatoes, fillet of fish in a rich and herby tomato and saffron sauce and served with garlic focaccia.

It was sooooo good! The tomato and saffron sauce wasn’t too salty, it had a lovely herby taste to it and it didn’t have a very fishy taste. The garlic focaccia was a great way to mop up all the sauce once you’ve eaten all the seafood.

The Kings prawns were laid on top of the fillet of fish. They were cooked to perfection and the fillet of fish was flaky and not over done. The mussels were plump and juicy and the squid wasn’t stringy.

They gave us lemon water to wash our hands in and also a separate dish to put all the shells in.

As we were sat outside we had the atmosphere of the band. Although the only thing that put me off was the singer coming round asking for money twice! I told her once I didn’t have change and yet she still came back to our table :/
