Belated Father’s and Mother’s Day dinner

Where: The Jetty, Harbour Hotel, Southampton

Since I don’t celebrate Mother’s and Father’s Day, I thought it would be nice to have a combined dinner.

I’ve never been to The Jetty before but my friend said it was nice so I booked us a table.

It was good for seafood but since I had seafood the night before I opted for the meat! I had the trio of pork but as I didn’t like black pudding I ended up have double pork; pork belly and pork loin.

It was so yummy! The pork was tender and melt in your mouth and the crackling was perfect, not overly salty. The Yorkshire pudding was nice and soft and all the vegetables were perfectly cooked.

We also had starter of mussels in lemon and black pepper sauce and a seafood Bouillabaisse. The Bouillabaisse had a lot of lobster flavour to it but the mussels weren’t consistent. One bowl was lemony and the other had too much black pepper.

I think this was an OK place to have food but it was a bit pricey for what it was. Although, saying that we did get a complimentary carrot soup as an amuse bouche. That had a lovely taste to it but the kids didn’t like it.
