Zizzi

Where: Unit WM19, Level 2, West Quay South, Southampton, SO15 1DE

Me and my lady friends love a good catch up. We all used to work together but we now either work in different teams or they have left the company. We always make time for each and its usually once a month. We all love our food so most of our catch ups evolve around food.

So we went to Zizzi tonight and I usually rate it but tonight was a bit average. Well for my main anyway; I’ll get to that in a minute! I went for the Winter Warmers menu and it was £19.95 for 3 courses, bargain!

Starter: Mini Arancini Balls. These were filled with Basilicata sausage, pancetta & mozzarella and served with a chilli dip. The Arancini Balls were lovely and there was the melty mozzarella inside. The chilli dip had a good kick to it and went very well with the crunchy coating.
Main: Beef Brisket & Venison Tagliatelle. I was really looking forward to this as it sounded amazing on the menu. I was rather disappointed as it was quite bland, there wasn’t much beef or venison flavour to it. The mozzarella didn’t really add much to the dish either.
Dessert: Chocolate Melt. Now I’m not really into my desserts but this was amazing! It was definitely melty on the inside and melty in my mouth. Eat it with the vanilla gelato and you’re in heaven 😋

2 out of 3 wasn’t bad also our waiter had a bit of an attitude on him when we were paying our food… We were close to taking his tip away!

I think I would go back again as I reckon they just had an off day. Their king prawn pasta is lush!
